With the SIX Swiss Exchange Trader Examination, traders prove that they have the necessary knowledge and skills to trade securities on the Swiss Stock Exchange.
Our modules "Trading” and "Rules and Regulations" provide all the necessary information you will need to successfully pass the exam and get hold of the trading license. Read up on the subject matter before the training. The training takes one day, for already licensed traders half a day. To ensure that you are well prepared for the exam, we go through the modules together with you.

Which Exam Do You Have to Take?
Passing the trader examination offers several advantages. On the one hand, you receive a trader's licence recognised by the Swiss Stock Exchange, on the other hand, you build up your knowledge or keep it up to date.

- you are employed by a SIX Swiss Exchange AG Participant or Reporting Member
- you hold a recognized license by SIX Swiss Exchange AG
- or your SIX Swiss Exchange AG license has expired since 2 years or more
- you are employed by a SIX Swiss Exchange AG Participant
- you hold a recognized license by SIX Swiss Exchange AG
- and you have more than 5 years of professional experience without interruption since obtaining your recognized license

Procedure
The exam is conducted:
- online at the Participant's premises under the supervision of the responsible Compliance Officer
- for Reporting Members and others once a month at SIX premises
Exam Structure
- multiple-choice exam
- Trader Examination: 100 questions
Trader Examination for Licensed Traders: 50 questions
Trader Examination for Senior Traders: 25 questions - the result is shown online at the end of the exam
- pass mark: 70%
The Trader Examination for Senior Traders may be retaken 3 time with the same login details.
Further Information for Head Exams
Should a Participant not be able to provide the necessary infrastructure, the exams can also be conducted in the premises of SIX Zurich under our supervision.
