About this On-Demand Webcast
Get the latest insights on what drives global firms’ choices of market data vendors, data types and frequency and their views on use cases, sources and delivery.
In the 2024 Global Market Data Study, Coalition Greenwich, in collaboration with SIX, interviewed 67 global buy-side and sell-side firms to discover and analyze the drivers of market data consumption and distribution and emerging technology adoption.
The research piece focuses on the types and frequency of data being consumed, including real-time and historical tick data. Further emphasis lies on the role of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), including generative AI and large language models (LLMs). In addition, this paper explores the use of application programming interfaces (APIs) and the role of cloud for the delivery of market data.
Key Study Findings:
- The majority of study participants expect market data spend to increase by at least 1-5% in 2025
- 70% of respondents confirm APIs will drive their data business in the next 3–5 years
- 75% of study respondents anticipate AI/ML to contribute the most to enhancing data consumption
- Historical tick data is critical for analytical and regulatory use cases and is being adopted by nearly all survey participants
