On SIX Swiss Exchange, the new year began with a significant increase in trading activity, both compared to the previous month and the previous year: a turnover of CHF 112.9 billion represents an increase of 30% and 27% respectively. In the bond segment, January turnover doubled compared to December 2023 to a record level of CHF 46.3 billion. A total of 4,124,712 transactions were carried out on SIX Swiss Exchange, which corresponds to a significant increase of 14.3% compared to the previous month. The Swiss blue-chip index SMI continued its upward trend in the new year, rising by 1.8% to 11,333 points.
