2022 was a difficult investment year, presenting a challenging market environment. Nevertheless, turnover in the Swiss market for structured products proved to be stable, as structured products offer investment opportunities even in volatile market situations.
At the 18th edition of the Swiss Derivative Awards in April 2023, the best of 90 submitted products – all listed on SIX Swiss Exchange over the course of last year – were distinguished in seven product categories: equity products, commodity products, index products – sponsored by the Business Unit Financial information of SIX and handed over by Denis Meier Fehr, Head Index Sales at SIX –, products on precious metals / foreign currencies / interest rates, products on alternative underlyings, ESG products and climate protection products.

Furthermore, the best market makers were crowned in the two categories Leverage Products (Bank Julius Bär) and Investment Products (Luzerner Kantonalbank), while Leonteq Securities, Luzerner Kantonalbank and Raiffeisen Schweiz received trophys for their service excellence.
A particular highlight of the evening was the presentation of this year's Special Award: Daniel Manser was honored for his many years of commitment in the field of structured products. In his laudatio, André Buck, Global Head Sales & Relationship Management of SIX Swiss Exchange, acknowledged Daniel Manser's achievements and contributions to the growth of structured products in Switzerland – be it as Editor-in-Chief and owner of Derivative Partners and the magazine “Payoff”, or in the founding of the Swiss Structured Products Association (SSPA) and the Swiss Derivative Institute, to name but a few.
André Buck wished Daniel Manser every success with his new non-profit project “A Million Dreams” and presented him with the Special Award to the prolonged applause of the more than 260 guests at the Award Night in Zurich.
