As one of Europe’s leading market places, the Swiss Stock Exchange values its close collaboration with the Buy Side community and keeps forging bonds with all stakeholders in the financial industry. An example how this manifests itself is in sponsoring highlights such as the Leaders in Trading Buy-Side Awards.
The Buy-Side Awards constituted the highlight of the Leaders in Trading: The Digital Experience (LiTDX) 2020, distributing coveted trophies in six categories. A special digital production features one-to-one interviews with the winners and provides an inside-look into the world of buy-side trading. The film also features exclusive insights from Jennifer Hlad, Head of Equity Sales UK & Ireland at the Swiss Stock Exchange.
No Shortage of Liquidity
Starting with a look back on the institutional trading landscape in 2020, Jennifer explains how the extraordinary depth of liquidity in the order books of the Swiss Stock Exchange made it easier for participants to trade large quantities without moving the price, and how they were able to benefit from the amount of large block orders resting in its non-displayed pool, SwissAtMid.
Furthermore, Jennifer provides examples how the close collaboration of the Swiss Stock Exchange with the Buy-Side fosters the creation of new services, like Trading-At-Last (TAL). Successfully introduced last year, TAL provides additional liquidity in Swiss shares, particularly in Mid & Small Caps.
Quality and Excellence
Held virtually last week by The Trade as part of the Leaders in Trading: The Digital Experience (LiTDX), the Buy-Side Awards recognize quality and excellence – elements that are part of the DNA of the Swiss Stock Exchange. And with more than 1,500 participants submitting a record number of over 9,500 votes, the industry demonstrated huge engagement and interest in the awards. Discover all the winners
