Thanks to a patented forecasting algorithm based on artificial intelligence, the new ATM Cash Management Services enable significant optimization of ATM replenishment intervals and secure the bank’s internal expertise, which was previously file- and person-specific, in a standard software package. SIX offers the ATM cash management solution to the banks as a platform (Software as a Service – SaaS) or, based on this, as a complete service (Business Process Outsourcing – BPO).
With Zürcher Kantonalbank as a pilot customer, the first financial institution will start operations on 1 November 2021. Zürcher Kantonalbank’s consistent focus on ongoing process optimization and the highest possible service availability of its ATMs provides ideal conditions for the pilot phase. During a period of around six months, the software-supported processes of the solution will be tested on various points and further optimized until they are ready for the market. From the second quarter of 2022, the new ATM Cash Management Services from SIX will be available to all Swiss and Liechtenstein financial institutions.
SIX has already developed several services related to operating ATMs for banks, such as centralized ATM monitoring. At the request of various banks and with the aim of achieving an even higher degree of optimization for them, the next logical step was to also offer ATM cash management as a service. In particular, linking multiple services brings the necessary efficiency to achieve significant cross-service economies of scale for the financial institutions in terms of better service availability, simplified processes and cost optimization.
