Benchmark Solutions for the Swiss Market
SIX provides access to a wide range of asset classes through standardized indices and advanced strategies for the Swiss market. We calculate the SMI, Switzerland’s most important equity index, and offer a range of other equity, bond and real estate indices as well as a variety of strategy indices. Furthermore, we provide various ESG indices.
Our indices are attractive benchmarks for the Swiss market and are used both as underlying for index-based products, such as ETFs, passive funds, passive mandates and structured products as well as for activities in the portfolio management process.
All SIX Indices rely on a rules-based, transparent methodology. For each index, specific rules are outlined in its corresponding methodology rulebook, which is available for review. In 2014, SIX announced its compliance with the International Organization of Securities Commission's (IOSCO) Principles for Financial Benchmarks. SIX also received clearance for its major Swiss indices under the EU Benchmark Regulation (BMR).
We also develop custom index solutions for individual clients. For each index, we make sure that we deliver the quality, high standards and transparency which SIX is known for.
The use of SIX Swiss Indices and their registered trademarks as well as the access to restricted index data are governed by a licensing agreement.
