We Value Your Feedback

SIX is compliant with the International Organization of Securities Commission (IOSCO) "Principles for Financial Benchmarks".

Within the framework of the BMR Regulation, the SIX Swiss Oversight Function reviews both the validity of the index concepts and rules and the potential settings of indices. In the event of significant changes, a broad market consultation is carried out. Changes to the index rules are publicly announced here with an appropriate reasonable lead time (usually 3 months)

Latest Market Consultation

SIX conducted a market consultation between 7 September and 7 November 2023, regarding potential changes to the methodology of the SMI and other Swiss equity indices. The consultation was open to all market participants.

SIX received around 200 responses from various market participants providing their feedback. The majority of the respondents were based in Switzerland and clients of SIX Index Services, however, SIX received also feedback from respondents who were not clients of SIX Index Services. The respondents were not of one single opinion and expressed their reasons for or against the proposals with a varying degree of details. The answers varied depending on the use-case for which the SIX indices are subscribed to, the size of the client in terms of assets under management and the covered market segment (blue-chip cap stocks versus mid & small cap – the next 170+ stocks).
