SPI Extra

SPI Extra

The Mid- and Small-Cap Index for Switzerland’s Equity Market

About the SPI Extra

The SPI Extra offers the opportunity to track the development of shares that are not included in the SMI, which makes it an attractive and indispensable benchmark for those portfolio managers who invest their clients’ funds in small and medium-sized Swiss equities.

The SPI Extra is continuously reviewed. As soon as an instrument fulfills the selection criteria, it is included in the index. As soon as a component no longer meets the selection criteria, it is removed from the index.

The index was launched on April 29, 2004 and is published every 3 minutes. The index was standardized at 1,000 points as of December 31, 1999. Like the SPI and the SMI, the SPI Extra is a free-float-adjusted index.
