Q: Is it possible to apply for more than one graduate position?

We always recommend focusing on one position. Nevertheless, it may be possible to be equally interested indifferent tracks. So if you are applying for more than one position, it is best to explain this in your motivation letter. Either way, we will then process your application for only one track based on our evaluation.

Q: When does the Graduate Program start and when does it end?

The application process starts beginning of March . The Graduate Program itself starts on October 1 st takes 18 months.

Q: Which documents do I need to upload?

Please upload a well-structured CV, your certificates from the universities and reference letters from previous work experiences. A motivation letter is not a must, but can be an advantage in our decision.

Q: How can I prepare myself for the Online Assessment? Are there any tools to practice?

No preparation is required for the assessments. The Group Assessment is also structured in such a way that they can be solved by the different requirement profiles.

Structure of the SIX Graduate Program

During the Discovery Week, you will gather with your peers for a special onboarding in Zurich to get an overview of our business units, meet members of our Executive Board and your mentor, with whom you will regularly exchange views, thoughts, and ideas. Your mentor will guide and support you throughout the Graduate Program. For each of the four assignment you will have a placement advisor who also will be there for you.

You spend your first months in a business unit or corporate function department that matches your chosen specialization. During that time, you attend initial training courses at our SIX Academy. You are entitled to a total of 15 training days during your time with us.

Afterwards, you spend the next five months in a different department in your chosen specialization in your home country. Wherever your deployment takes you, this rotation enables you to gain further experience and additional insights into SIX.

After ten months of the program, you will have learned quite a lot about SIX. Now it’s time to learn even more. You go abroad for three months to broaden your knowledge in one of our main international locations.

When the last five months of the Graduate Program get underway, for you this means completing training courses, wrapping up business tasks, and extensively discussing the feedback on your personal development. Then, for the finale, it’s time to celebrate your fascinating 18-month journey with SIX.

Your Specialization

Each of our graduate programs has its own specialization, which we call a ‘track’. Ideally, you should already have experience from your studies or internship that matches your desired track. Possible specializations are Product Management, Business Development, Data Management, Marketing or Infrastructure Technologies. The tracks are redefined for each program and may therefore differ from this enumeration.

Frequently Asked Questions about the SIX International Graduate Program

When does the Graduate Program start and when does it end? What are the requirements for applying?

In order to apply you need to have a completed (or to be completed in the summer) Bachelor or Master degree from a university or a university of applied sciences. Besides that, a first work experience (e.g. Internships) and English at level C1 is required . Furthermore a valid work permit for the specific country you are applying is a must. Additional specific requirements per graduate track are mentioned in the job advertisement.

Which documents do I need to upload? How is the application process structured and when do I know if I got accepted?

The application process is divided into three parts. It starts with applying for the Graduate Program and if your CV matches our expectations, you will be asked to do an online assessment. Followed by this you will be invited to a virtual interview with the SIX Young Talents Manager. In the final step, you will be invited to an on-site interview with your future mentor and the SIX Young Talents Manager. In this interview you will prepare a case and present it to us. Afterwards, we will ask you a few questions and you will have time to exchange with your mentor.
